"How to Make An Almond Cupcake with Salted Caramel Butter cream Frosting " by Erykah M

Can’t decide between sweet and salty? Here is the perfect recipe for the sweet and salty lovers! This is a delicious almond cupcake with salted caramel frosting, I usually make these cupcakes at any family get together or special occasion. This recipe is pretty easy to recreate inexpensive and of course it taste really good!

CUPCAKE INGREDIENTS:
·         1 (18.25 oz.) white cake mix
·         1 cup buttermilk
·         1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
·         1 tsp. almond extract
·         1 tsp. vanilla
·         4 eggs

FROSTING INGREDIENTS:
·         1/4 cup sugar
·         2 Tbsp. water
·         1/4 cup heavy cream
·         1 tsp. vanilla
·         3/4 cup (1.5 sticks) salted butter, softened
·         2 cups powdered sugar

Directions
Cupcakes
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake cups in the cupcake trays with paper liners.
Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. In a mixing bowl mix together the sugar ½ cup of margarine until blended well.
Step 3: Add in the eggs one at a time until thoroughly combined also stir in the vanilla and almond extracts. Carefully beat in the flour mixture along with the milk.
Step 4: You can use an ice cream scooper to spoon an even amount of batter in each cup or you can use any spoon of your choice. Fill each cup into the prepared cupcake cups, filling them about 2/3 full.
Step 5: Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes

Frosting
Step 1: To make caramel add the brown sugar, 1/2 cup margarine, corn syrup, and vanilla into a large saucepam over medium heat, and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer until it gets thick it should take about 3 to 4 minutes; remove from heat and allow to cool to warm (not hot) temperature.
Step 2: Add the cream, a little bit at a time until the caramel has the consistency of honey. Mix in a pinch of salt, and allow to cool to room temperature.
Step 3: Mix the salted butter with the sugar in a bowl  with an electric mixer (or any mixer you have) on medium speed until the mixture is fluffy; slowly add and beat in the caramel, a tablespoon at a time, beating until the frosting is smooth.
When all the steps are complete, you can decorate and add to the frosting. A suggestion you can do is to drizzle the caramel on top of the frosting and also add a pinch of sea salt on top or almonds. Enjoy!

Erykah, your instructions were really easy to follow and I love how you divided the instructions into parts, a section on how to make the frosting and a section on how to make the cupcakes itself. It made it easier to understand because all of the steps weren't combined into one paragraph. The visuals also made it easier to visualize what the cupcakes should look like. Great piece, I can't wait to try this!!!

I really love have you incorporated the aspect of sweet and salty into one! I think this a great idea/recipe because the almond and the salted caramel do compliment each other. The instructions were clear and I'm actually surprised that it is s a pretty simple recipe! I really like the layout of the instructions and how you have a heading for the frosting and how to make the cupcakes! It makes it clear to the person following the recipe to know what exactly they are doing/making! Overall, great job and I love the visuals!

The directions were specific yet not so overwhelming that they were hard to understand. I think this a unique recipe cupcake recipe considering it includes something salty in it instead of cupcake usually being just a sweet dessert.

I definitely need to give this a try! After reading that title I was hooked on already, the good is that your instructions were simple and throughly explained so people will not be intimidated. Not to mention it looks delicious!

The directions were very to the point, simple, and very easy to follow! Which is good because I’m a terrible cook and personally need the directions to any recipe simplified as much a possible :-) But this looks super delicious I’m a sucker for cupcakes so I will definitely try this recipe.

Yum! this looks so delicious. You did great job writing this recipe. The directions weren't confusing, simple, and easy to follow. I can't wait to try it!

The title made my mouth start watering not to mention the picture of the steps and finished product. I'm not one who usually likes almond desserts or buttercream frosting, but now you having given me something else to crave when my sweet tooth demands sacrifice.

The recipe fits into the theme of Febuary so well and it would've definitely been useful for Valentines Day. But I'm a really big fan of desserts so I would love to try this anytime! I love how the recipe is really clear and easy to follow, even for an amateur baker like me. I'm also a big fan of how you separated the instructions for the cupcakes and the frosting because it makes it much more clear. Thank you for sharing this!
